Modernization and Construction of New Building - Secondary School „Alexandru Odobescu”, Urziceni

In the municipality Urziceni, Ialomița county, a major project is being carried out at 6 Aurora Street in modernization, new building and equipment of the Secondary School „Alexandru Odobescu”. The investment is being carried out by the Municipality of Urziceni, and the design was realized by ALPHA PROJECT SRL.

The existing building no longer met current requirements, which is why it was proposed to build a new body providing modern and adapted spaces for the educational process.

Height and indicators

• Proposed scheme: Basement + Ground Floor + 2 Floors (D+P+2E)

• Maximum height: 11,70 m

• Existing floor area: 1.146 sqm → proposed: 1.730 sqm

• Existing floor area: 2.948 mp → proposed: 5.381 sqm

• P.O.T.: 20.17% → 30,5%

• C.U.T.: 0,52 → 0,95

Main functions

The new body will include:

• 13 classrooms

• 2 laboratories

• library and CDI office

• doctor's surgery and chancellery

• toilets and technical rooms

The proposed architecture is designed to express coherence, elegance and sustainability, placing the building in the category „green buildings”.

Structure and materials

The construction will be carried out on reinforced concrete frames, with 16 cm thick planks. The perimeter and partition walls will be built of BCA blocks, with moisture protection, enhanced fire resistance, acoustic and thermal performance.

• Exterior finishes: gray decorative plaster, natural and graphite gray HPL plywood

• Interior finishes: washable wall tiles, tiles, wallpaper, ceramic and wood panelling

• Pardoseli: laminate flooring in classrooms, ceramics in cold rooms, special flooring in laboratories

Walls in traffic areas will be protected against damage to a height of 1.50 m and the underside will be fitted with minimum 10 cm plinth.

The joinery will be made of aluminum with Low-E insulating glass with argon. Access areas will be highlighted by curtain walls independent from the main structure, fully secured and solar protected. Accessibility will be ensured by modern staircases and a panoramic elevator.

For additional safety, facades facing sports fields and playgrounds will be protected by minimum 1.20 m planting or fencing.

Through this project, „Alexandru Odobescu” Secondary School will become a modern and safe learning space, able to provide students and teachers with optimal learning and teaching conditions in a sustainable and future-oriented environment.
